SSG Landers' Jong-hoon Park, 33, is preparing for the 2024 season by losing 14 kilograms.

In an interview after training at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on March 3, Jong-hoon said, "My preparation for the season is going well. I've lost a lot of weight. I'm trying to get back to the good times," he said about his preparation for the season.

With a career record of 71-73 with a 4.74 ERA in 230 games (1077 innings) in the KBO, Jong-hoon served as SSG's main starter for four years from 2017 to 2020, posting 47 wins. However, he has struggled since signing a five-year, $6.5 billion non-free agent contract on December 14, 2021. In the past two years, he has gone 5-11 with a 6.12 ERA in 29 games (128 innings).

After two of his worst years, Jong-hoon has been working hard to get back to his best form. This winter, he lost a whopping 14 kilograms. "I'm putting the puzzle together one by one. Flexibility is more important than strength, but I realized that too late. I used to hover in the low to mid-80s, but in the last three years, I've been bulking up and hovering around 100 kilograms. I lost two years of my life, so I need to get back to it."

"I eat raw food at night and don't eat carbohydrates in the evening," he said, revealing the secret to his weight loss. "I ran 10 kilometers a day, and I lost 3-4 kilograms a week. I was exercising the same, but I ate less, so I lost a lot of weight," he laughed. As for why he decided to lose weight, he said, "My mother-in-law analyzed my results. When I did well, she would watch the video and say, 'Look at your weight at this time' and give me advice." He added.

Jong-hoon continued to underperform and was even removed from the second round of the draft as a protected player. "I'm glad I didn't go to another team," Jong-hoon laughs, "When I first heard it, I wondered if it was real. But after thinking about it, I think I would have made the same decision. An athlete speaks sexually. We have to make sure that this doesn't happen in the future. If I had gone to another team, I would have been really depressed."

Park Jong-hoon, who said, "There may be a bottom, but I think this is the bottom," added, "It doesn't bother me so much now that it's passed, but at the time it was very hard. I thought, 'I'm working so hard, why not? I have to do more. I have to do more. ' The year before and the year after, I was working out nonstop on Mondays. I felt sorry for my family because I couldn't spend time with them. But now that I'm spending time with my family and resting, I feel lighter and more relaxed," he said of his changed mindset."First of all, I want to throw the ball as soon as possible. Last year, the environment was really good, but it was a shame that I couldn't use all the facilities. (Choo) Shin-soo-hyung invited me, so I can go again this time. I'm going to work out at the athletes' house and then move to the camp in time for the spring training schedule," he explained his offseason preparation plan. 카지노사이트가이드

Jong-hoon, who is looking to rebound this year, said, "I think it will be a satisfying season if I can keep the starting rotation for the entire season. Last year, I was so angry with myself for skipping rotations and avoiding strong teams. I don't have a specific goal of winning a few games, but I think my first goal is to stay in the starting rotation," he said of his new season goals.
